One Leg Squat
The one leg squat is a bodyweight exercise that targets the glutes, with the quadriceps, hamstrings and calves assisting.

How to do the one leg squat
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
- Extend one leg forward, keeping it off the ground.
- Bend your standing leg and lower your body down as if sitting back into a chair.
- Keep your chest up and your back straight.
- Push through your heel to return to the starting position.
- Repeat with the other leg.
Sets and reps
Start with 3 sets of 10–15 reps, resting 45–60 seconds. When every set feels easy, add reps, slow the lowering phase or move to a harder variation.
