The basic toe touch (male) is a bodyweight exercise that targets the glutes, with the hamstrings and calves assisting.

How to do the basic toe touch (male)
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms by your sides.
- Bend forward at the waist, keeping your back straight and your knees slightly bent.
- Reach down towards your toes with your hands, keeping your legs as straight as possible.
- Pause for a moment at the bottom, then slowly return to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Sets and reps
Start with 3 sets of 10–15 reps, resting 45–60 seconds. When every set feels easy, add reps, slow the lowering phase or move to a harder variation.
