The resistance band seated shoulder press is a resistance band exercise that targets the shoulders (deltoids), with the triceps and upper back assisting.

How to do the resistance band seated shoulder press
- Sit on a chair or bench with your back straight and feet flat on the ground.
- Hold the resistance band with both hands, palms facing forward, and bring it up to shoulder level.
- Press the band overhead, extending your arms fully.
- Pause for a moment at the top, then slowly lower the band back down to shoulder level.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Sets and reps
Start with 3 sets of 10–15 reps, resting 45–60 seconds. When every set feels easy, add reps, slow the lowering phase or move to a harder variation.
