Roller Side Lat Stretch
The roller side lat stretch is a roller exercise that targets the lats, with the shoulders and triceps assisting.
How to do the roller side lat stretch
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold the roller with both hands in front of your body.
- Bend your knees slightly and hinge forward at the hips, keeping your back straight.
- Extend your arms forward and roll the roller down towards your feet, feeling a stretch in your lats.
- Hold the stretch for a few seconds, then slowly roll the roller back up to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Sets and reps
Hold each stretch for 20–40 seconds, breathing slowly, and repeat 2–3 times per side. Stretch to mild tension, never pain.
Muscles worked
The main muscle is the lats. The shoulders and triceps work as secondary muscles. See all lat exercises or every foam roller exercise.
