Seated Lower Back Stretch
The seated lower back stretch is a bodyweight exercise that targets the lats, with the glutes and hamstrings assisting.

How to do the seated lower back stretch
- Sit on the edge of a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
- Place your hands on your thighs or on the sides of the chair for support.
- Slowly lean forward from your hips, keeping your back straight.
- Feel the stretch in your lower back and hold for 20-30 seconds.
- Slowly return to the starting position and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Sets and reps
Hold each stretch for 20–40 seconds, breathing slowly, and repeat 2–3 times per side. Stretch to mild tension, never pain.
