How to do the standing pelvic tilt

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent.
  2. Place your hands on your hips or let them hang by your sides.
  3. Engage your core muscles and tilt your pelvis forward, pushing your lower back towards the wall behind you.
  4. Hold the position for a few seconds, then release and return to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Sets and reps

Start with 3 sets of 10–15 reps, resting 45–60 seconds. When every set feels easy, add reps, slow the lowering phase or move to a harder variation.

Muscles worked

The main muscle is the lower back (spinal erectors). The abdominals work as secondary muscles. See all lower back exercises or every bodyweight exercise.
