Assisted Lying Calves Stretch
The assisted lying calves stretch is an assisted exercise that targets the calves, with the hamstrings assisting.
How to do the assisted lying calves stretch
- Lie on your back with your legs extended.
- Bend one knee and place your foot flat on the ground.
- Using your hands or a towel, gently pull your toes towards your body, feeling a stretch in your calf.
- Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds.
- Release the stretch and repeat on the other leg.
Sets and reps
Hold each stretch for 20–40 seconds, breathing slowly, and repeat 2–3 times per side. Stretch to mild tension, never pain.
Muscles worked
The main muscle is the calves. The hamstrings work as secondary muscles. See all calf exercises or every assisted exercise.
