Assisted Prone Rectus Femoris Stretch
The assisted prone rectus femoris stretch is an assisted exercise that targets the abs, with the quadriceps assisting.
How to do the assisted prone rectus femoris stretch
- Lie face down on the ground with your legs straight.
- Bend your right knee and reach back with your right hand to grab your right foot or ankle.
- Gently pull your right foot or ankle towards your glutes, feeling a stretch in the front of your right thigh.
- Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds.
- Release and repeat on the other side.
Sets and reps
Hold each stretch for 20–40 seconds, breathing slowly, and repeat 2–3 times per side. Stretch to mild tension, never pain.
Muscles worked
The main muscle is the abs. The quadriceps work as secondary muscles. See all ab exercises or every assisted exercise.
