Roller Body Saw
The roller body saw is a roller exercise that targets the abs, with the shoulders, triceps and core assisting.
How to do the roller body saw
- Start in a plank position with your forearms on the roller and your body in a straight line.
- Engage your core and slowly roll the roller forward, extending your body as far as you can while maintaining control.
- Pause for a moment at the furthest point, then slowly roll the roller back towards your starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Sets and reps
For muscle growth, 3–4 sets of 8–12 reps with 60–90 seconds of rest is a proven starting point. For strength, use a heavier weight for 3–5 sets of 3–6 reps and rest 2–3 minutes. Add a little weight once you hit the top of your rep range on every set.
Muscles worked
The main muscle is the abs. The shoulders, triceps and core work as secondary muscles. See all ab exercises or every foam roller exercise.
