Short Stride Run
The short stride run is a bodyweight exercise that targets your heart and lungs, with the quadriceps, hamstrings and calves assisting.

How to do the short stride run
- Find an open space or a treadmill to perform the exercise.
- Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart.
- Start jogging in place, lifting your knees high and pumping your arms.
- After a few seconds, start taking short strides forward, maintaining a quick pace.
- Continue running with short strides for the desired duration or distance.
Sets and reps
Work in intervals — for example 30–45 seconds on and 15–30 seconds off for 6–10 rounds — or keep a steady pace for 10–20 minutes.
