The bodyweight standing calf raise is a bodyweight exercise that targets the calves, with the ankles and feet assisting.

How to do the bodyweight standing calf raise
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointing forward.
- Place your hands on a wall or stable surface for balance.
- Slowly raise your heels off the ground, lifting your body weight onto the balls of your feet.
- Pause for a moment at the top, then slowly lower your heels back down to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Sets and reps
Start with 3 sets of 10–15 reps, resting 45–60 seconds. When every set feels easy, add reps, slow the lowering phase or move to a harder variation.
