Standing Calves Calf Stretch
The standing calves calf stretch is a bodyweight exercise that targets the calves, with the hamstrings and glutes assisting.

How to do the standing calves calf stretch
- Stand facing a wall or sturdy object, about an arm's length away.
- Place your hands on the wall or object at shoulder height.
- Step back with one foot, keeping your heel flat on the ground.
- Bend your front knee slightly and lean forward, keeping your back leg straight.
- You should feel a stretch in your calf muscle.
- Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds.
- Repeat on the other leg.
Sets and reps
Hold each stretch for 20–40 seconds, breathing slowly, and repeat 2–3 times per side. Stretch to mild tension, never pain.
