The leg up hamstring stretch is a bodyweight exercise that targets the hamstrings, with the glutes assisting.

How to do the leg up hamstring stretch
- Lie flat on your back with your legs extended.
- Bend one knee and bring it towards your chest, holding onto your thigh or shin.
- Straighten your leg as much as possible while keeping it elevated.
- Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds.
- Repeat with the other leg.
Sets and reps
Hold each stretch for 20–40 seconds, breathing slowly, and repeat 2–3 times per side. Stretch to mild tension, never pain.
