Behind Head Chest Stretch
The behind head chest stretch is an assisted exercise that targets the chest (pectorals), with the shoulders and triceps assisting.
How to do the behind head chest stretch
- Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart.
- Interlace your fingers behind your head with your elbows pointing outwards.
- Slowly squeeze your shoulder blades together and push your chest forward.
- Hold the stretch for 15-30 seconds.
- Release the stretch and repeat as desired.
Sets and reps
Hold each stretch for 20–40 seconds, breathing slowly, and repeat 2–3 times per side. Stretch to mild tension, never pain.
Muscles worked
The main muscle is the chest (pectorals). The shoulders and triceps work as secondary muscles. See all chest exercises or every assisted exercise.
